Megan and Kjrstin both have an intimate connection with ADHD.
They both are:
With both personal and professional experience, Kjrstin and Megan have a unique perspective on ADHD and how it impacts both individuals and families. They bring this perspective into their presentations, coaching, conversations and well, pretty much anything to do with ADHD.
Specifically, they both have extensive supporting, teaching, presenting and helping families and individuals with ADHD.
Megan has been working as a Psychiatric Nurse for over 25 years. Along the way her spouse and children were diagnosed with ADHD. She began researching ADHD to understand her family better, but found that many people and professionals (including teachers and therapists) were not often taught about certain ADHD symptoms. When she was diagnosed with ADHD in her mid-30's, she began to understand how much the non-diagnosed/non-treated ADHD symptoms had shaped how she felt about herself growing up. She became passionate about helping others to understand ADHD and how it affects them. She feels strongly that educating people about ADHD should include both understanding what the symptoms can be and figuring out ways to address the challenges. She believes in a strengths-based approach. Megan loves any opportunity to be creative--whether it is rearranging the furniture, planning a get-together, or finding a new way to do something. She loves stories of any kind--books, movies, poetry, etc.
Kjrstin (KJ) has been working in therapeutic settings since 2003, starting at a ropes course, moving to wilderness therapy as a field guide, then residential treatment centers, back to wilderness as a therapist and now currently working in private practice. She has worked as a front line staff, wilderness guide, therapist, clinical director, parent coach and presenter. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who has a passion for ADHD and bringing support to families that have it. When not working, KJ loves to travel, mountain bike, rock climb, and build things with Lego. She also loves sunrises and sunsets, listening to music, staring at the ocean and sitting in a hammock letting her monkey brain bounce around.
